Henceforth, it is illegal to disseminate rumors that Nobulous oppressed Gearlocs, that these rogue actors are liberators, or that they are working within The Break to destroy threats to Daelore as a whole.

— Gearloc Council edict

With the death of Nobulous Grint, the Gearloc Council endeavors to hide any evidence of wrongdoing, and the roving band of adventurers has gone underground… literally. Centuries ago, one of Nobulous’s mad experiments went horribly wrong, resulting in a massive subterranean cavern known as The Break. A dark power resides there, and if the brave party of Gearlocs doesn’t bring peace to The Break, the corruption will spread unchecked to the rest of Daelore.

Welcome to Unbreakable, a perfect entry point into the Too Many Bones universe and a hot, hot, hot time for 1-2 players.

Assemble your party of Gearlocs (you can add additional Gearloc characters to play with 3-4 players) and set off to cleanse The Break. Nobulous may be dead, but his machinations are not... The famous Battle Mat is back, but it’s overflowing with lava-based mechanics and fiery Baddie types. You’ll need to unleash the full potential of the Gale and Figment duo to gust, phase, and warp your way through The Break. Encounters provide opportunities to gain Loot, earn Training Points, and test your newly acquired Skills. When you’ve earned enough Progress Points, you can challenge the Tyrant and see if your Gearlocs are equipped to fight this final threat.

Throughout the adventure, players will decide how best to outfit their Gearloc. Buffing stats, training new skills, advancing new professions, and lockpicking precious Trove Loot. And don’t forget to learn from past mistakes. Every miss is an opportunity to add bones to your Backup Plan, enabling powerful abilities to turn the tide of battle in the Gearlocs’ favor.

The lore in the rulebook sold me instantly — the way it makes spreading rumors about Nobulous illegal is such a fun bit of worldbuilding. The Gearloc tyrant characters feel genuinely different to play, and the Break mechanics add a tense layer I didn't expect.

The way the rulebook frames the anti-Gearloc propaganda as in-world legal text is such a clever touch. I've only played two solo runs so far, but the encounter variety already feels deeper than I expected from a base game.

Andrew ★★★★★

The Gearloc tyrant choices completely change how each fight plays out, and the new Break mechanic keeps every encounter tense. Played three sessions solo and it's easily my favorite expansion yet.
