Cloudspire, Vol. 1: The Joining War

Vorter's military campaign was the highlight for me, especially how the aviaries of the heirs are woven into his arc. It's a hefty volume, so set aside a weekend if you want to follow Kram's rise properly.

Kram's storyline actually got me invested, which I didn't expect from an expansion. Vorter's military campaign adds a nice layer of tension to the brawnen side of things. Easily worth it if you're already into the base game.

The aviary mechanics for the heirs are a brilliant twist—scouting ahead feels genuinely tense. Vorter’s scenarios also gave our group some of the toughest, most rewarding battles we’ve had.
